- The free start-up/hobbyist licenses give you access to Fusion 360 for a 1-year period. You can renew your license annually. Small businesses making less than $100,000 a year (or the equivalent) can use this license. Hobbyist's using Fusion 360 for non-commercial purposes are also allowed
- Education licenses come in two versions: individual licenses and licenses for administrators in educational institutions.

Register for a start-up or hobbyist license
A start-up or hobbyist license is an annual license intended for users in a company, start-up, or home business that generates less than $100,000 per year. It is also intended for individuals using Fusion 360 for personal non-commercial projects (per the Web Services Terms of Services).
To register for a start-up or hobbyist license:
- Go to Fusion 360 for Hobbyists and Makers and select Get Started Now.
- Review the Terms of Services to see if you qualify.
- Click Create an account or sign in to your existing Autodesk Account.
- Under Products & Services in Autodesk Account, select Download now next to Fusion 360 and run the installer.
- When you start Fusion 360, sign in using your Autodesk Account email and password. Fusion 360 automatically detects your start-up or hobbyist license when you sign in.

Change an education license to a commercial license
If you previously associated an email address or username in Autodesk Account with an education license, you can't reuse those credentials for a Fusion start-up or commercial license.
